JM Academy 2 – 4 East Coast Strikers – (NIBFA Cup First Round Fixture)

WHAT A GAME!!! BRILLIANT ADVERTISMENT FOR YOUTH FOOTBALL ⚽️⚽️

JM Academy 2-4 East Coast Strikers

East Coast Strikers made the long trip down to Ballysally in Coleraine from Ards in which saw them start the game brightly. ECS won a early corner in which saw Bradley A punch the ball to safety and we managed to clear our lines.

ECS continued to pile on the pressure and made it hard for the home team to get a foot in the game. The away side created a great chance from open play in which they managed to convert into the net 1-0

JM Academy started to knock the ball around in which resulted in Matthew T and Jamie D linking up to create a chance for us. There was definitely chances in the first 20 minutes for us.

ECS doubled their lead from a great passing goal that absolutely stunned our defence. Chance after chance came for the home team but we couldn't convert.

HT 2-0

JM Academy started the second half on the front foot earning a early corner which we almost took advantage off but the headed from Lee N was just over the bar, our tails were up and we pegged ECS back into their own half.

Jamie Downey collected the loose ball and played through Ben Curry who knocked the ball into the net past the travelling Goal Keeper. We continued to press and had the best spell of the game by a mile.

Corner for JM Academy, Jamie Downey crossed the ball into (Crouchy) Lee Nicholl who headed the ball home to equalise 2-2. Chance after chance but we just couldn't convert. Credit to ECS as they managed the game well after conceding two goals in the second half.

Two late goals for ECS secured the game for them and put them through to the next round.

Credit to East Coast Strikers, they have great coaches with positive attitudes. Good Luck in the next round.
