JM Academy 2-1 Ballymoney Youths

JM Academy played host to Ballymoney in a windy, wet and miserable Coleraine, The pitch was in brilliant shape for the ball to be knocked around. The scene was definitely set for what would be a great match.

The JM boys didn't start great, we struggled playing in the heavy rain and wind, in which took us a while to get into the game. Ballymoney stood strong and dealt with the waves of pressure from the home side. Our tails were up and we quickly transformed into 5th gear when Matthew Templeton and Jamie Downey combined together which created a great chance which was deflected wide for a corner. (Nothing came from the corner)

Chance after chance arrived for the home team but as previously said Ballymoney stood strong, credit to their back four and the goalkeeper in which they then had fantastic game.

JM finally broke the deadlock just before half time when Harley Kennedy played a great all into the back post which Lee Nicholl converted with a tap in 1-0.

HT 1-0

During the half time interval the Coaching staff talked about how we were going to manage this game.

Second half started and we continued to press the ball, some great passing movements from us today! We doubled our lead with an outstanding finish from Lee Nicholl again who is on 5 goals this season. 2-0

Ballymoney started to get their foot in the game on which they created a few chances but our Goalkeeper Bradley Archibald stood firm and performed some great saves. Ballymoney broke and scored a goal at the end to finish the game 2-1

Great performance from the lads in Orange and Black, Credit to Ballymoney who were Brilliant opponents. We wish them all the best in the rest of the season. First league victory of the season for our boys and we are hoping for more points to come.
